I would like to state an opinion on both Will and Sovereignty. Will is the embodiment of the human mind to think and make a rational decision. Will can be collective or individualistic. A collective will is the ethos of the making of a democracy. What is sovereignty? It refers to a nation being externally independent and internally supreme. In the present Geo-political scenario we find a lot of nations with conflicts of the collective will and sovereignty. Some nations use brutal force and the adverse result is violence and terrorism. What should be done when there is conflict between the collective will and the sovereign? Nations should leave it the will of the people through a referendum or a plebiscite.
The Jaguar Smile by Salman Rushdie is his first nonfiction work written about his experiences in Nicaragua. Rushdie reviews the political situation in Nicaragua.
Much of Nicaragua’s early politics is characterized by rivalry between liberal elite of Leon and the conservative elite of Granada. This rivalry led to civil war. US born adventurer William Walker arrived in Nicaragua and won the war of the liberals. He took over the country and anointed himself President. Fearing his plans for expansion, several Central American countries waged a war and executed him. The conservatives then ruled Nicaragua.
Taking gain out of the rift of the conservatives Jose Santos led a liberal revolt that brought him to power.
Nicaragua has long stints of military dictatorship. Prominent amongst them was the Somoza. The Somoza family came to power as a result of an US engineered pact. One general which resisted this US attempt was Agusto Sandino.
After the withdrawal of US from Nicaragua, General Sandino and the Sacasa government reached an agreement in return for agricultural land and retention of armed forces. This was followed by bitter faction between General Sandino and Somoza Garcia. Sandino was assassinated by the National Guard.
Following the death of Sandino, Somoza took control of the country. Rigobertro and Luis Somoza took reigns of the govt. followed by the death of their father.
Luis Somoza died of a heart attack. Then power was taken over by the Rene Schick who was a puppet of the Somoza. Somoza’s brother, Anastasio Somoza succeeded presidency after Schick. Carlos Fonseca adopted General Sandino as his hero and formed the Sandinista Liberation Front or the SLF.
The SLF gained many Nicaraguan sympathizers as the Somoza failed to rebuild Nicaragua after the earthquake and also for their mismanagement of the economy and rampant corruption.
The SLF took advantage of the worsening economic crises. The murder of Joaquin a prominent newspaper editor led to the people being distraught against the Somoza.
The SLF took the reins of power in 1979. Somoza fled to Argentina where he was sent to the grave. SLF developed a program of a National Literacy Crusade. The Regan administration cut of all ties with SLF as they were supporting FMLN rebels in El Salvador. Regan also imposed an embargo.
Due to these effects Nicaraguan economy took a turn for worse. The US supported a clandestine group—the Contras and they aimed to topple the SLF government. However the Soviet Union and Cuba were funding the Nicaraguan army. The US support for the contras met with flak all over the globe. The international court of justice passed a verdict against the American government.
Daniel Ortega was elected President in 1984. Right wing opposition parties did not participate claiming that the SLF was rigging the elections. The US government offered amnesty for Nicaraguans to settle in America. The International Court of Justice ordered America to pay 12 billion as reparations for violating the sovereignty of Nicaragua.
We all know that the democratic president of Zimbabwe, Mugabe, has been placed under house arrest following a coup d’ etat. As idiom it means the arrest of democratically elected leader by the junta.
Example: The military of Zimbabwe has put a Mugabe.
Mugabe happens in many countries.
We come across the parting of the Red Sea in the Old Testament. God wanted to deliver the Israelites from the tyrannical rule of the Pharaoh and he parted the Red Sea and made them escape. As an idiom it means divine help in a hopeless situation.
Example: When it comes for support to South Korea, America is parting the Red Sea.
I need a parting the Red Sea in my life.
Aung San Suu Kyi is the democratically elected leader of Myanmar. She has distanced herself and ignored the plight of Rohingya Muslims are who are being ethnically cleansed by the junta of Myanmar called Tatmadaw. As an idiom Aung San Suu Kyi means being a cold shoulder to the suffering and the tormented.
Example: There are many Aung San Suu Kyis in the world.
The Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar are facing an Aung San Suu Kyi.
Doklam is the border between India and China. Recently there was a military standoff between India and China. As an idiom it means a souring relationship between two countries and hostile bickering.
Example: The Cold War was an ideological Doklam.
The Doklam between America and Cuba has been eased.
There is a Doklam between America and North Korea.
I am not a conspiracy buff. As I was randomly searching links on Trunk’s links to secret societies, I could come up with no conclusive evidence. However as I go through his hand gestures, I am convinced to think that they are merely outward projections of a power complex. Are they? Or are they done deliberately? I love the catharsis of conspiracy in speculative mania. There’s secretive aura of an eerie halo. Does it portray something as evil or sinister? Or are they random acts of a subconscious expression of super-confidence.
Let’s analyze the first of these hand symbols. Is it a cunning manipulation of the mark of the beast 666, like the one of Google Chrome (so innocently deceptive) or it is merely an ostentatious display of an ego boost? Even I have used it unknowingly to show that something is excellent. I think Trump is a practicing Christian and he though no Saint (ha ha ha) has appointed Christians (Mike Pence conducts Christian classes for all White House and CIA Staff) mostly in his cabinet. I honestly think that he deserves a fair share of innocence as that being Biblical: to be cunning as the Serpent and to be Innocent as the Dove. Is he or is he a maverick with the occult deification of the Illuminati and Satanism.
The second of his hand gestures with Vladimir Putin clearly on the down side shows the Pyramid (an inverted triangle which is also Satanic). I would like to use the Jews who were in Egyptian captivity who learned the mastery of skills especially architecture from them. Israel is a nation, all of Abraham’s real descendents born out of womb of Sarah and who are the most traumatized people. But their exile made them assimilate the best and translate that into a modern Israel all flowing with milk and honey. Is Trump trying to depict the pyramid as the completion of the unfinished one on the 1$ Bill. The black (bit of his pant seen through the pyramid) behind the pyramid can be taken as the all Seeing Eye. Christ was cleverer than the Masons and wiser when he asked his disciple to take the coin from the fish mouth and pay taxes to Caesar. Is Trump trying to tell Putin: Give unto Caesar what is his and give unto me (Christ) what is mine?
God Bless America
Demoid is a neologism/idiom coined from Democracy and Schizoid. The afflatus for this creation comes from Catalonia who wants to become an independent nation, freely unfettered from Spain. Spain has taken blustering steps to prevent their dissent and disassociation. Demoid as an idiom and a neologism refers to authoritarianism bequeathed in manacles by a Democracy to prevent secession of its territory, province or state.
Example: Spain’s attempt to sully and ditch Catalonia’s secession of becoming a free democratic country is a Demoid.
Recently Modi, Indian Prime Minister and Trump had a get-together in US. It’s interesting to analyze the body Language of Modi and Trump. Let’s take the hug. Trump is so stiff necked and showing a posture of defiance and arrogance. Trump’s posture hints at neo-colonialism. Modi on the other hand is condescending, obeisant and giving in. So crude is the handshake, an outcome of sheer, polite barbarism. Look at Trump’s palms; they are rejecting the friendly posture of a Chief of a country. Trump’s gestures towards Modi shows his attitude as that of being a primitive colonialist. The diplomacy inherent in the posture is an empty sign. Trump is royal and patronizing where as Modi is meek and humble. Is Modi is begging for patronage? This is quite unlike Modi who lambasts his opponents at public forums with clenched fists. I can bet that Trump is unaware of the Capital of India. Modi Sir, Please inflate your ego before Trump no matter what he is or who he is. Yes, Trump should learn some yoga to avoid being stiff-necked.
All sound and no rhythm as an idiom means having intellectual wisdom but no financial prudence. I got this from Pranoy Roy the media king of India who owns NDTV, a prominent news channel. Pranoy Roy has fallen into severe debt and his premises have been raided.
We cannot call Trump as an all sound and no rhythm person.
The fate of Pranoy Roy as a media tycoon has become an all sound and no rhythm one.
